Astilleros de Mallorca Open New Workshop
Astilleros de Mallorca has opened a second new office and workshop in the Global Building within Servicios Técnicos Portuarios (STP), Palma´s largest travel-lift haul-out facility limited to 700 T. Astilleros de Mallorca continues to provide superior mechanical and technical support for its clients.
Astilleros de Mallorca has specialized in the refit and repair of yachts for more than 25 years. The new office and workshop in the Global Building has been fully equipped with new machinery such as a lathe, milling machine, hydraulic press, welding bench and hydraulic test bench. As a result, the Project Managers can provide their clients with a more rapid response inside the yard. The office, located next to the 700 T travel-lift in the center of the yard area, makes it easier for Captains and crew to drop by to discuss their service needs.
Rob Van Wieringen, Project Coordinator for Astilleros at STP, comments, “As our first workshop quickly became too small, we have expanded with this new large mechanical workshop within STP in the Global Building. Our team of Project Managers has moved into their new offices directly above the new mechanical workshop and all operate from within the STP yard. The new location of the workshop and machinery allows us to be more efficient, always with the backup of the main yard when required. Now with both mechanical and metal workshops running on-site, plans are continuing for further expansion in order to offer more services”
