ICOMIA features in The Superyacht Report

Tony Rice, Secretary General, International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) is featured in the June edition of The Superyacht Report; addressing some of the latest ISO Standards developed for the superyacht industry.  

“ICOMIA recognises that not all class rules are appropriate for superyachts since many are written for commercial vessels, or in some cases there are issues very specific to large yachts that would benefit from standardisation.

In 2006, the ISO Technical Committee responsible for Ship and Marine Technology Standards (TC 8) formed ‘Sub-Committee 12 for Large Yachts’ (TC8/SC 12) to develop Standards specifically for yachts over 24 meters – ICOMIA is a member of TC8/SC 12 and ensures only Standards the industry wants are developed through consultation with its members”
