Compositeworks Opens Technical Office

With a growing number of complex refit projects every year that require a highly technical approach, Compositeworks have relaunched their technical resource service to provide a more comprehensive and higher level of service.  The new team which now comprises 10 members currently covers the principal activities of Naval ArchitectureEngineering,  Drawings & ScanningCoatings and Reporting. Compositeworks have also invested in a state of the art 3D scanning machine that you can learn more about below. The team will intervene at all project phases, from the quotation stage right through to the production phase, sea trials and sign off stage  before redelivery.

The new department is currently being developed under the guidance of Jean-Michel Arnaud, who has moved to the position from within the shipyard. The team comprises a wide variety of specialists including  an experienced naval architect with over 20 years experience in new build design who is supported by three fulltime draughtsmen. This section of the team are also responsible for 3d scanning and file manipulations. The technical and engineering team consists of four experienced industry professionals who together have well in excess of 100 years of engineering knowledge to draw on, two of whom came from within Compositeworks’ existing staff with two further team members brought in from outside. The final two team members are the shipyard’s fulltime coatings supervisor, who is in charge of monitoring quality controls during paint works and providing a single liaison for exterior paint surveyors and advisors, and the reporting administrator who is responsible for ensuring that all of the technical documentation relating to each refit is properly collated and presented to the Clients.
