Pendennis joins Superyacht Refit Group

At the end of November 2014, renowned UK shipyard, Pendennis, joined the ICOMIA Superyacht Refit Group as its twelfth member.

The International Council of Marine Industry Associations’ (ICOMIA) Superyacht Refit Group represents quality refit, repair and maintenance yards. Working towards maintaining and improving global superyacht quality, the Refit Group follows professional working standards and specified environmental practices.

Pendennis Falmouth is a full service facility capable of building custom yachts up to 100m, as well as undertaking substantial restoration and remodelling projects or routine class/flag refit works. The on-site facilities include two 75m undercover dry docks, which are 100% environmentally controlled with a state-of-the-art dust extraction system – perfect for large scale superyacht painting. In 2014 two new 90m construction halls were created alongside an additional 45m hall. Construction of a non-tidal wet basin commenced in May 2014 in order to provide direct seaward access to Pendennis with a holding area before and after a yacht’s time in the yard, as well as a base for short refit works for yachts of up to 100m.

Having built over 30 luxury yachts and conducted major refit, remodelling and restoration works on a further 200 in our 26 year history, the Pendennis family can be found all over the globe. Pendennis prides itself on their passion for yachts and on their reputation for delivering world-class service, whether building, refitting or providing international yacht support. Operating in the 30m-100m market, meeting the specific needs of each of their clients is a priority, and they work hard to develop partnerships that will be both long lasting and productive. Now with a refit office and workshop located in Palma supporting the main facility in Falmouth, Pendennis can offer clients a truly flexible support network during the life of their superyacht.

ICOMIA Superyacht Refit Group members conform to a unique Code of Practice, which brings certainty to refit and eases the owner’s concerns on how their yacht’s refit will be managed and the quality that will be achieved. In addition, Refit Group members offer their clients a standard framework contract developed by prominent international marine lawyers.

ICOMIA Superyacht Refit Group members consist of Amico & Co, Astilleros de Mallorca, Blohm + Voss Repair, Compositeworks, Marina Barcelona 92, Monaco Marine, Nobiskrug GmbH, Palumbo Marseille Superyacht ITM, Rybovich, NCP-Repair Shipyard Šibenik Ltd, Pendennis and Pinmar.
